  • Press Pass Inc. To Debut “Female” Side of Racing with 2010 Wheels Element Release

Latest Press Pass Inc. Product to Feature Danica Patrick, Other Top Female Drivers

Charlotte, N.C. – As the leading manufacturer in NASCAR trading cards, Press Pass Inc. will sail into unchartered territories later this month with the release of its 2010 Wheels Element product. The first NASCAR product of the year, Wheels Element will feature some of NASCAR’s top female drivers, including former IndyCar Series driver Danica Patrick whose long-awaited entrance to NASCAR’s Nationwide Series will debut next month, and other up-and-coming female drivers on the racing circuit. Following a very successful unveiling of Element 2009, this year’s Element package shifts into even higher gear with an improved memorabilia program, a popular autograph line-up and a 100-card base set printed on recycled card stock featuring a classic look. The set will feature Patrick, whose impending shift to the Nationwide Series has been met with much hype among racing fans of all types, and Press Pass Inc. will be the first to document this monumental move with her first-ever trading card in a NASCAR uniform.

“We are thrilled about the approaching release of the 2010 Wheels Element product and all of the excitement that will surround it,” said Jesse Leadbetter, Wheels Element Product Manager at Press Pass Inc. “Danica’s move to NASCAR along with the other top female drivers we are highlighting will truly make this product memorable.”

2010 Wheels Element will also include an “Undiscovered Elements” autograph program that will feature flourishing female drivers Jennifer Jo Cobb, Leilani Munter and Chrissy Wallace.

Cobb, a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver made her debut in the Nationwide Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the fall of 2004. Chrissy Wallace, daughter of renowned NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, became the first female driver to ever win at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina at the age of 19 and made her debut in the Craftsman Truck Series in March of 2008 at Martinsville Speedway. Munter, an ARCA Series driver whom Sports Illustrated dubbed one of the “top ten female race car drivers in the world,” is also active in promoting “green living”. With the release of the 2010 Wheels Element product, Press Pass Inc. is going to be the first to capture and highlight these four amazing women on their road to success in the NASCAR world.

The Undiscovered Elements Autograph program will also include the first certified autographs of NASCAR drivers Parker Kligerman, Ryan Truex and Trevor Bayne.

Each of the six Undiscovered Elements will feature 125 autographs signed in blue ink and 25 red ink and inscription autographs. These autograph cards can be found in 2010 Element Mystery box-topper packs, along with Hobby-exclusive blue base set parallels (#d to 35). Element Mystery packs may also contain $20 or $100 bills! Each hobby box will deliver one NASCAR autograph, one race-used memorabilia card and one of these Element Mystery box-topper packs.

    About Press Pass, Inc.
Founded in 1992, Press Pass Inc. staked its claim as a revolutionary trendsetter in the trading card industry by incorporating the first ever athlete worn or used memorabilia into its trading cards. In its January 1996 Press Pass NASCAR trading card release, race-used tires were incorporated into the Burning Rubber racing insert. Later in the spring and summer of 1996, Press Pass introduced race-used sheet metal cards, race-used Dale Earnhardt fire-suit cards, and the first-ever game-used jersey basketball cards. This practice of using event-used memorabilia in the trading cards would drastically transform the trading card hobby and spawn a trend that continues today. Haha, just an educated guess. Seemed like the logical 'debut' product for her RU/Auto stuff.
